Dr Ajit Dattatray Dinkar, age 67 years, embarked on his journey to heavenly abode on 06th February 2022 in Bambolim, Goa. He left behind his wife Dr. (Mrs) Aarti Dinkar, His daughter Dr. Amruta Dinkar and son Atharva Dinkar.
Dr. A. D. Dinkar was born on 27th July 1954. He graduated in 1977 from Government Dental College, Mumbai. In the year 1984, he completed his Master’s in Oral Medicine and Radiology from the same institute. He has over 33 years of teaching experience in Goa Dental College and Hospital, Goa. Since 1995 to 2017 he worked in the capacity of Head of Oral Medicine and Radiology department. He also served as the President of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine & Radiology in 2005.
Sir had a keen interest in Forensic Dentistry and had been working in this field for over 3 decades. In the year 1999, the Government of Goa had appointed him as a Member of the Medical Board with special Reference to Medico-Legal cases Involving Age Determination that report to the Goa Medical & Goa Dental Colleges. His proposed Curriculum to start Postgraduate M.D.S. Course in Forensic Odontology (Dentistry) and upgrading of the Curriculum in this subject at the B.D.S. Course was unanimously accepted by the Indian Association of Forensic Odontology and the Dental Council of India on 14th May 2012.
Dr. Dinkar had unbound expertise over the subject and vast clinical experience. He had conducted several Workshops, Hands-On-Courses and delivered Guest Lectures on various aspects of Oral Medicine & Radiology and Forensic Dentistry. He has several international and national publications to his credit.

With a heavy heart, we inform you all the sad demise of our Colleague, Dr.Soheyl Sheikh who left this abode on 30th May 2020 at Pune. A BDS graduate from SDM college of Dental Sciences, He completed his MDS under Dr. A. B.Bhoweerin 1997 from KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belagavi in flying colors. He worked at PMN Dental College, Bagalkot for 2 years. His simplified way of teaching with his cartoons, made the subject easy and unerasable. He continued his academic career at MM college of Dental Sciences, Ambala. He served there as Prof. andHead. He was just not a guide, but also mentor and philosopher for his post graduate students. Currently he was practising at Pune.
With an aim to strengthen and support the Academy in its growth,he become E C member of IAOMR. He contributed immensely and scaled the ladder to the post of Vice president and was currently the President Elect. He shared his vision and plans with his friends as he was supposed to take over the highest post of Academy this December (2020), at Khamam.
He had vast experience and immense knowledge. He was recognized by fellow colleagues for his oratory skills and was invited as resource person at many National IAOMR programs. His leadership skills and team work reflected in the meticulous and successful conduction of 4 National programs of IAOMR.
He was gem of a person, soft heartened, anda loving and caring parent and son too. He was humble and had a very helpful nature, which made him well known among all fellow colleagues, friends and students.It is a great loss to IAOMR fraternity in specific and dentistry at large.
The Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology acknowledges Dr.Soheyl Sheikh's contribution to the subject and the Academy. IAOMR deeply mourns his saddemise and prays to the Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bearthe irreparable loss.
